Hospitalization

During your hospital stay, your care will be managed by your physician in partnership with NorthEast Medical Associates. NorthEast Medical Associates is a team of internal medicine and critical care physicians who specialize in caring for hospitalized patients. These doctors, known as hospitalists, are in the hospital at all times to take care of your needs as quickly and efficiently as possible. They will be in constant contact with your personal physician to collaborate on your plan of care. If you must have a test or procedure, you will not have to wait for the results to be evaluated and presented when your doctor has time to come by the hospital.

Instead, your NorthEast Medical Associates physician will immediately respond to that need. If you or your family have questions during your stay, your NorthEast Medical Associates physician is in the hospital and available to you. He or she will make rounds and will be available to answer your questions. When it is time for you to go home, your NorthEast Medical Associates physician will discharge you right away and contact your personal physician about your follow-up care.
